Youth League 2014-15 – Final Results

news, youth_league

Attached are the provisional results of the Youth Orienteering League.  Beechwood Park School came top, ending 5 years of dominance from St Albans High School.

In the Maureen Webster Memorial Trophy (for competitor numbers), St Albans High School retained the trophy.

Any competitor who has done 3 events can claim a medal.  For those in the top 3 (having done 3 events), a place medal can also be claimed.  Please email me and I will send the medals on.

Bonus points have been awarded (according to the rules) to competitors who have attended level C and above events during the youth league season. Anyone who is “denied” a medal by bonus points will be allowed to claim it after the season, if they fulfil the condition for Bonus points by the start of next season. The reason for the Bonus point rule is to encourage wider participation and club membership. 10 bonus points are for awarded for a level C event, and can be claimed for 2 events. The points are doubled for club members or if the competitor joins the club.

Thanks to everyone who attended the league, it was a very successful season. Next year we have 6 events, with an extra run in late March; the first event will be in October as usual.
