Organiser’s Report
This is the first time we’ve used Cuffley Camp as our base and it proved an excellent one, making the organisation of the event much easier. I hope you appreciated having a dry building, proper toilets and the availability of tea and coffee. We were able to fit all your cars in despite losing the field in the North to the rain, and keep the start and finish close to the event centre. Thanks to the Richie and the Active Learning Centre staff for making us welcome and we hope that, now the centre has a proper orienteering map of the camp available, orienteering can become an integral part of their offering.
I hope you survived the weather and had a good run: next time I’ll pre-order sunshine. Tom’s courses were excellently planned and I heard many complimentary comments as people were downloading. Apologies for the lack of live results – a technical hitch which the SI team expect to have resolved for our next event (Stanborough Park on November 5th).
A big than you to Tom for planning and Roger for controlling. Finally I want to thank the club’s helpers for giving up their time and enduring the heavy rain for 2 hours to make this event happen.
