HH Club League update
The DFOK event at Darnley was probably the muddiest of the winter so far. Despite the conditions, running speeds were quite high, helped by longish taped routes to cross the A2 and HS1 for the longer courses.
Of the seniors, Viv and David Hodson did best against their handicap. Of the juniors, it was Daniel Figg, Daniel Hodson and Tegan Frampton.
Our own event at Ashridge showed how things should be. Judging by RG2, Mark’s longer courses certainly seemed to meet their aim of minimising path running. The seniors were led by Vanessa Macmillan, Harry Goldingay and Viv Hodson (again). Of the juniors, Daniel Figg completed a double ahead of Becky Young and Natalia Pereverzina.
Overall a number of the same names recur. David and Viv Hodson have moved ahead of Helen Errington. Daniel Figg leads from Sam Fielding, with Beth Hanson a bit further back.
There are three club league events in quick succession in February:
- Entries for GO at Blackheath (no, not the Kentish one, the one East of Guildford) on Feb 2nd close on Thursday 30th Jan but they are significantly cheaper until Saturday 25th.
- Next is the Compass Sport Cup Heats on 16 Feb at Broxbourne – not far to travel for most of us, but please make sure to enter the right course for your age group unless the Captain asks otherwise. Closing date for that is Feb 2nd, not that far away.
- Finally, MV’s event at Pippingford on 23 Feb, closing date 8 Feb.
