Our Best Christmas Present!

juniors, news

Very well done to HH Juniors, who turned out in force to support the team on a freezing cold February 14th at Christmas Common. Love (of orienteering)  was in the air as they gained  896 points out of a maximum possible 900 by taking the lead in six of the eight classes.

The points were scored by Sam Fielding, Laura Bayne, Alex Fielding, Evan Bowers, Hannah Freeman, Kate Frampton, Dominic Bowers, Francesca Bayne and Yvette Baker novice Isabelle Godfrey.  Following up behind were some strong runs on the yellow course from some other newcomers to this level of competition, Mahi Mittal and Isabelle Caldwell for the girls, and Anthony Fletcher and Toby Trewin for the boys.  Well done to all of them.

This means that the club had qualified for the national final, to be held on 3rd July at Wormley Woods in Hertfordshire.  Please put the date in your diary, as that really is an exciting event, and HH needs you all to be there competing against the big clubs from all around the country.  Every runner helps the team, not just the scorers, as each run stops other clubs from getting those high points.
