Organiser’s Comments
Great courses around complex woodland on a cold, but fine Winter’s day all led to a very enjoyable event around my local woods. The Happy Herts team got into top gear to make this one of our best events so far this season.
I hope you all enjoyed your day with us and I look forward to seeing you again at our next event on Mardley Heath on 1 February.
Particular thanks to Dave for his challenging courses, squeezed into only Sherrardspark Woods, avoiding relatively long legs to include a tour of Malms Wood to the North, as has been done for many events here in recent years.
Many thanks to all our enthusiastic volunteers; Templewood School for the use of their facilities as our event centre; Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council for permission to use Sherrardspark Woods; and to Sherrardspark Wood Wardens for keeping this Site of Special Scientific Interest in good order. And, of course, many thanks to all our competitors who came to make our efforts well worthwhile.
LOST PROPERTY A knitted beanie hat was found in the woods. It is black with broad bands of brown, pink, mauve and light blue. It also has a small badge attached. If you have lost it, please contact me via one of our club contacts.
