Organisers Comments

Thanks to all those who supported the event – our first at Frithsden since 2007 – and to Mark Adams for planning some excellent and challenging courses. A total of 128 competitors was as much as we could have hoped for and the early-morning drizzle stayed away.

The first concern we had when considering the event was the parking situation. This was resolved thanks to High Ridge Farm who happily allowed us to use the entrance track along the ridge which had ample parking space for an event of this size and plenty of room for our new registration tent to be assembled (which we nearly lost in a gust of wind before we had time to tie it down!!) and also the ‘Sherriff’s Office’ (toilet). The access arrangement for cars and the walk down to the start and back from the finish also seemed to work very well.

Our next concern was the presence of the Ashridge Boundary Run which came straight past the farm and down the hill through the narrow path but, fortunately, this also didn’t cause the kind of congestion problem we feared. There were even a handful of Happy Herts members taking part in the run instead of ours!

So, hopefully, we will have the chance to return here before too long for another high-quality event.

Don’t forget our next Saturday Series event takes place at Chipperfield on 2nd April.
