HH Juniors pipped in Yvette Baker Trophy heat

Despite excellent performances from many of our juniors, Happy Herts were pipped by one point in the Yvette Baker Trophy heat held in Danbury Country Park on 13th May.

27 of our juniors made their way to Danbury, just outside Chelmsford, to compete against teams from West Anglia (WAOC), Suffolk (SUFFOC) and SOS (Essex Orienteers).

The weather was warm and clear and the area was a typical mix of park and wood land.  With good wins from Andrew and Francesca and good support from Robin and Hannah, Josh, Laura and Dom, and from Izzy and Rory we were hopeful of a good win but it was not to be with SUFFOC winning ahead of HH by a single point.

However, we were delighted that so many turned out for their first competitive run for the club which bodes so well for future years
