Terrain  Town park.
Parking At Rothamsted Research AL5 2JH, access from A1081 opposite Harpenden Common. Many thanks to Rothamsted Research for allowing use of their car park.

Only use the main A1081 entrance. The “back” entrance from Hatching Green off the B487 is not available to us.

Public Transport  Harpenden station 600m. Buses from Luton and St Albans pass along A1081.
Courses For the Youth League, boys and girls compete in separate, age-dependant classes:

In addition to the White, Yellow, Orange and Light Green courses above, there will be a (very light) Blue course of distance 5.0 km and 65m climb. All course lengths are provisional.

Adults and other runners who are not participating in the Youth League may enter any course.

Starts Register from 09:45 to 11:30
Regulars can save time by reserving a map/dibber at http://sat.maptypes.org
Starts from 10:00 – 11:30. Courses close at 12:30
Fees Non-BOF members: Adults £6, Juniors £3
BOF members: Adults £4,  Juniors £2, HH juniors FREE.
Adults accompanying juniors are free. Extra maps, if available, £1.
Punching Sportident punching will be used.
Dibber hire £1.00. Charge for lost dibbers £30

Dogs Under control. Please clear up after your dog.
Safety Be aware of other park users:

  • The skateboard park is marked out of bounds on the map.
  • Footballers will be practising. Courses have been planned so that you can avoid all marked pitches entirely with only minor deviations in your course.
  • There is a permissive cycle route. Speeds are generally low and the path is wide but please take care around the start & finish.
  • Be considerate to walkers.

Orienteering is an adventure sport. You take part at your own risk and are responsible for your own safety.
