Note that this Saturday League event starts 45 minutes later than usual, so that we don’t clash with the regular Park Run. If you’re a glutton for punishment you could do both!

TERRAIN Open parkland with some woodland and contour detail.
PARKING Limited parking in the Country Park car park, off Thieves Lane, Hertford, SG14 2WN  Overflow parking on local streets – please park with consideration for residents.
Car park has a 2.0m height restriction.  High vehicles: please contact organiser in advance for instructions.

Coach: Green Line 724 (Sele School) 600m
COURSES Courses for everybody from beginners of any age to experienced orienteers.

Course Approx. Distance Difficulty
White 2.1 km Easy – all along paths, control flags whenever you need to decide to turn.  Flat course.
Yellow 2.4 km Fairly easy – navigate along paths. Some turns with no control flags.  Some controls on features next to path.  Flat course.
Orange 3.3 km Moderate – start cutting across country, some controls a bit away from line features. More hilly.
Light Green 4.1 km Harder – progression from Orange.  A range of navigational skills needed to find controls on any mapped feature.  Moderately hilly.
Green 4.5 km As hard technically as we can make it on the area.  Steep climbs and descent.
Blue 6.6 km As hard technically and physically as we can make it on the area. Steep climbs and descent.

You may enter any course and will automatically be entered in the club’s Saturday League unless you ask not to or you are running the Green course which is not a standard Saturday option.

STARTS Register from 10:30 to 12:00 or visit http://sat.maptypes.org to reserve map/dibber.
Starts from 10:45 – 12:15. Courses close at 13:15.
FEES Non-members: Adults £6, Juniors £3
BOF members: Adults £4, Juniors £1
Adults accompanying juniors are free, but £1 for an extra map.
PUNCHING Sportident punching will be used.
Dibber hire £1.00. Charge for lost dibbers £30
MAP 1:7,500 pre-marked maps on waterproof paper for all courses.
FACILITIES
DOGS Dogs allowed, but must be on a lead in areas with livestock.
SAFETY Orienteering is an adventure sport. You take part at your own risk and are responsible for your own safety. A full risk assessment will have been carried out.
