Junior Training Lees Wood

What We will be using Leeswood campsite and Whippendell Woods for our training, with games and exercises in the woods. We will be working on consolidating your current level and helping your progression to the next level in orienteering, with advanced and intermediate groups. Our base will be Flights Oak, one of the huts on the site. Juniors under 8 should be accompanied by an adult.
Why Helped by qualified coaches, you will develop skills which will give you the confidence to enjoy orienteering events more – and enable you to progress from Saturday events in parks to the more difficult regional events, usually held on Sundays. You will be eligible to be selected to run for Hertfordshire in national competitions such as the Yvette Baker Trophy – our heat this year is in Norfolk on 6th March, and yellow course runners will make a big difference to our chances of qualifying for the final.
What to bring Wear clothes & shoes suitable for running in. Bring a change of shoes & socks as it may be very wet underfoot, and waterproof & extra warm clothing if it is a cold & wet day. Drinks & lunch You must bring a signed medical/consent form if you have not already done one previously.
Cost Members only. Free to HH juniors. If you wish to join HH follow this link http://www.happyherts.org.uk/new-to-orienteering-2/join-us/ We will be pleased to see new members, even if you have not yet received your membership details. As the orienteering year starts in January, some members may need to renew their membership.
