Further details:

The Street-O will be in Hertford. The map will cover the area to the East of the town centre and will include controls on the beautiful King’s Mead – the largest untouched water meadow in Hertfordshire. So as well as the usual streets, expect some parkland and rough open / semi-open, and even some contours for that extra physical challenge.

The Start / Meeting point will be Old London Road car park, postcode for sat navs: SG13 7HJ.

From all directions, take the A414 to the Bluecoats roundabout in Hertford (junction with A119 East), from which you should exit on the A414 Eastbound (towards Harlow, Chelmsford, London & Cambridge) keeping to the left lane and taking the first turn to the left after 100m.

Proceed a further 100m., past the fire station, and turn into the car park which is on the right hand side. Parking is free after 18.00.

Warning: There are currently roadworks on the A10 which is down to one lane in each direction North of the A414 junction, leading to tailbacks in both directions during the rush hour.

If you’re coming by train, assembly is 300m from of Hertford East (head South, past Tesco), or 1.8km. from Hertford North through the town centre. The nearest bus and coach stops are Hertford (Tesco). Timetables at https://www.intalink.org.uk/timetables/

The format is the usual 45 minute score with 27 multiple choice controls, with the usual 1:10,000 Open Orienteering style map on waterproof paper.
A pen will be required and SI card if you have one (loan SI cards also available).

Starts are 19.00 – 19.20 but I expect to be there from 18:40 if anyone wants to go early.

Safety notes:

· Under 16s may compete only if accompanied by an adult

· Watch out for traffic – all streets ‘in bounds’ are 20mph or 30mph limited

· The A414 and A10 dual carriageways (including the roundabouts) are strictly out of bounds for running along and may be crossed only at marked crossing points (underpasses)

· The railway line must only be crossed at the marked crossing point which is a signal-controlled crossing. YOU MUST OBEY THE SIGNAL

· Water courses must only be crossed using bridges. Two bridges are marked on the map as out of bounds due to construction work and must not be used

I look forward to seeing you all, and please bring your friends
