Terrain  Dense deciduous woodland crossed by footpaths and rides.
Parking Adjacent to the cricket field at Chipperfield TL045 015. There are a number of small car parks around Chipperfield Common. Marshals will direct you to an appropriate one or to on-street parking. Please share transport if possible.

Event centre at Blackwells Café, The Common, Chipperfield, WD4 9BS. No spiked or muddy shoes in the café.

Public Transport 4km from Kings Langley Station.

Infrequent bus 352 from Hemel Hempstead or Watford.

Courses Courses for everybody from beginners of any age to experienced orienteers.

Course Distance, Climb Difficulty
White 1.4 km, 15 m Easy – all along paths, control flags whenever you need to decide to turn.
Yellow 2.2 km, 15 m Fairly easy – navigate along line features such as paths, walls, streams. Some turns with no control flags.
Orange 3.0 km, 25 m Moderate – start cutting across country, some controls a bit away from line features.
Light Green 3.6 km, 30 m Harder – a range of navigational skills needed to find controls on any mapped feature.
Blue 6.0 km, 55 m As hard as we can make it on the area.

You may enter any course and will automatically be entered in the club’s Saturday League unless you ask not to.

Starts from 10:00 – 11:30. Courses close at 12:30
Fees Non-BO members: Adults £6, Juniors £3
British Orienteering members: Adults £4, Juniors £2, HH juniors £FREE.
Adults accompanying juniors are free. Extra maps, if available, £1.
Punching Sportident punching will be used.
Dibber hire £1.00. Charge for lost dibbers £30.

Facilities Café  and toilets near start and finish.
Dogs Dogs allowed on a lead, but not in café. Please clear up after your dog.
Safety Orienteering is an adventure sport. You take part at your own risk and are responsible for your own safety.

Please be considerate of other users of the Common, including horse riders and dog walkers.

Take care crossing the road to start and back from finish. The crossing will be marshalled. All roads are out of bounds when you are running your course.
