Organiser’s Comments

The loss of permission for Whippendell led to a major replanning so it was great to get the event on. It was an excellent event centre and a very nice, if small wood. Thanks to Mark for putting a vast amount of effort in after we lost permission. Thanks as always to all the HH helpers, so many people volunteering makes the job easier. I had a lot of comments from people who had enjoyed themselves which makes the effort worthwhile.”

Planner’s Comments

Apologies for 20 on Short Blue. The idea was to have two interesting legs instead of a long path run from 19 to 21. I was aware of the potential to see the straight line from 19 to 21 and miss 20, but fixing it needed another control site. I had to call a halt somewhere on adding sites for ever-more-marginal situations, but it was the wrong call in this case.

Thanks to Neil for good suggestions to improve the courses, to Jacob for thorough organising as usual, to Alex for the survey and Simon for the map. And many thanks to Sean McCallum, the Scouts’ warden, who was particularly helpful.
