Organiser’s Comments

The weather was warm and humid but dry for today’s event which was part of the GLOSS series. As a result, we had a good turnout of nearly 130 runners from a wide range of clubs from around the London area including HAVOC, CHIG, LOK, DFOK, SLOW, SAX, TVOC and WAOC. Thank you to all who came and I hope you enjoyed the courses.

At this time of year, the grass is long making it surprisingly tiring to cut across directly, and in the woods although the undergrowth is high in places where it is growing, outside of those areas, there are some really nice runnable areas with a few interesting contoured features.

A huge thank you to Will and all at West End Farm for kindly hosting us, our comings and goings, and our car parking today, especially given the short notice for the event when we had to move from Moneyhole. Without that willingness to host us today, the event couldn’t have gone ahead. Thank you also to St Albans District Council and Wheathampstead Parish Council for permissions to use what is always a good area for our Saturday Series.

Finally, thank you to all the helpers who made the event run so smoothly, especially Tom for Controlling, Neil for support in Organising and David S for supporting Tom and being ready to control on the day. Have a good Summer and see you at Street-O or Burnham in September…

Ben
