Our traditional burn-off-the-turkey joint venture with LOK. A relaxed and fun score event to help you recover from the Christmas festivities with a mass start at 11am.

|Terrain||Mixture of gently undulating open parkland and wooded areas with some brambles.|
|Parking||TQ 289 969 car park adjacent to Southgate Hockey Centre at the northern end of Snakes Lane. Post code for sat nav EN4 0DZ.
Signposted off the A110 near Oakwood Underground station. Turn off the M25 at J24 (Potters Bar) onto the A111 heading south towards Cockfosters and Southgate; after 3 miles turn left at the roundabout onto the A110, then after half a mile, just after Oakwood Underground station, turn left into Snakes Lane.
|Public Transport||Oakwood Underground station on the Piccadilly line – a direct connection from Central London and Heathrow airport every 10 minutes! Should Tube trains not be running to Oakwood, Bus 121 from Turnpike Lane, Wood Green or Southgate (all Piccadilly Line Stations) – alight at Oakwood Underground station. 1.2 km walk (allow 15 minutes) from station, along Snakes Lane, to the car park.|

Controls 110 to 119 will be worth 10 points each
Penalty of 20 points for each minute, or part thereof, late.
|Starts||Registration: from 10:00am to 10:45am. Entry on the Day only. Advice for beginners available.
Starts: 11:00am mass start. Start within 5 minutes’ walk from car park; Finish adjacent to car park.
|Fees||Enter on the day: Seniors £7.00, Juniors and students £4.00.|
|Punching||Sportident punching will be used.
Dibber hire £1.00. Charge for lost dibbers £30
|Map||1:10,000, 5m contours. Controls will be pre-marked on waterproof paper (no bags supplied).|
|Facilities||No toilets at the car park, but park toilets 0.8km walk away in the centre of the park and at Cockfosters Tube Station (en route from M25 – 20p); water, orange squash and mulled wine at the Finish.|
|Safety||Orienteering is an adventure sport. You take part at your own risk and are responsible for your own safety.
Please note that if you have competed in three orienteering events registered with British Orienteering and not joined an orienteering club which is a member of British Orienteering then you are not covered by our public liability insurance.
