Street-O Evening Score Finale – Hatfield
One of our weekly series of informal Street-O events around Hertfordshire on Tuesday evenings. Newcomers very welcome.

| Format | 45 minute Score event – visit as many controls as you can in 45 minutes. You can walk, run or jog.
Bring a smartphone or GPS watch if you have one, and pre-load the MapRun course:

| Timings | Start between 19:00 and 19:20 The nights are drawing in – please wear high-vis |
| Participants | Everyone from 16+ who fancies an evening run with a difference. You can walk and jog too! The events will involve crossing busy roads so will in general NOT be suitable for under 16s unless accompanied by an adult. |
| Registration | You are advised to pre-register to ensure a map is available at https://hh.mapreservation.org.uk/ Limited entry on the day, subject to map availability. Registration closes at midday before the event. |

| Maps | Waterproof maps will be provided on the night. |
| Safety | By participating in this event, you acknowledge that you do so at your own risk and are responsible for your own safety. If you are not a British Orienteering member and you accidentally injure someone or damage property during the event, you are not covered by members’ third party insurance. |

| Event-specific details: | Welcome to MonopOly, designed to mimic everyone’s favourite, or least favourite board game. Starting and finishing at the triangle is our version of GO, but you won’t receive any extra points revisiting it during your run. In total, there are 40 controls. There are 8 sets of three controls of increasing point values based on the 8 coloured sets on a Monopoly board. All three controls in a set are worth the same number of points and visiting all three controls in a set, in any order, will gain you bonus points as set out in the table below. There are 4 controls functioning as ‘stations’; visiting these will gain you increasing points as follows: 10 points for the first station, 20 points for the second station you visit, 30 for the third and 40 for the fourth. Similarly, there are 2 controls representing the ‘utilities’ worth 15 points for the first and 30 points for the second one you visit. There are 6 ‘chance’ controls; each of these will have a fixed, but unknown, point value in the range -10 and 25 points (so every runner going through the same control will gain, or lose, the same number of points) Finally, to replicate ‘super tax’ and ‘income tax’, there are two controls with a penalty of -10 points and two with a penalty of -20. These are drawn in dashed red for clarity. Revisiting the same ‘tax’ control will not incur multiple penalties i.e. you will only be penalised once per ‘tax’ control.
