Welcome to our Saturday Series event. Beginners are very welcome and there are courses for all standards.

Terrain  Open Parkland with small areas of woodland. Large uncrossable water features.

Vehicle access is only available travelling South West on Stanborough Road. From Hatfield and A1(M), continue to the Gosling Sports Centre roundabout and return to the car park entrance. Height Restriction 2m.

Car park charge £3.50 for 3 hours  (£1.50 all day with a ResidentPass).  The car park now operates with a new automatic number plate recognition system.
Public Transport  Stanborough park is 1.5 miles from the train station, following Parkway and Stanborough Road.
Courses
For the Youth League, boys and girls compete in separate, age-dependant classes:

6 Yellow 1.8 km
7 / 8 Orange 2.8 km
9 / 10 Orange 2.8 km
11 / 12 / 13 Light Green 3.8 km

In addition to the White, Yellow, Orange and Light Green courses above, there will be a Blue course of 5.5km.

  • All course lengths are provisional, and are ‘straight line’ distances – you will need to run farther.

Adults and other runners who are not participating in the Youth League may enter any course.
Starts Register from 09:45 to 11:30 or visit http://sat.maptypes.org to reserve map/dibber.
Starts from 10:00 – 11:30. Courses close at 12:30
Fees Non-HH members: Adults £5, Juniors £2
HH members: Adults £3, Juniors £FREE.
Adults accompanying juniors are free.
Punching Sportident punching will be used.
Dibber hire £1.00. Charge for lost dibbers £30
Map  1:7,500 pre-marked waterproof maps for all courses.
Facilities  Toilets and a cafe are located near Registration.
Dogs  Keep on lead and clear up behind you.
Safety Orienteering is an adventure sport. You take part at your own risk and are responsible for your own safety.

Only cross Stanborough Road at the underpass.  Take care as there may be runners coming the other way and headroom is limited.

Take care near lakes, the water is deep.
