Our traditional shake-down-the-turkey post-Christmas training event will this year be in the rather tricky terrain of Mardley Heath.

There will be a training session in the morning, followed by a social in the Scout Hut from lunchtime onwards. Please bring a contribution to the Christmas buffet.

Terrain Mardley Heath is a small, but complex woodland, mainly regenerating naturally following gravel extraction in the middle of the last century.
Parking At the Scout & Guide HQ or with care on nearby lanes.
Exercises There will be 3 or 4 exercises designed to develop particular orienteering skills – you can do one, or all, and repeat any that you want to.

Don’t forget your O kit.

The exercises will be suitable for M & W12 and upwards. There will be a map walk and exercises for younger participants.

You will have the chance to talk through your exercises with club coaches.

Social from 12:30 onwards
Fees Free for members, £3 for guests.
It would be helpful to know that you’re thinking of coming before 14 December, to help with map printing.
Social Offers of  either sweet or savoury items for the buffet to Frances, tea and coffee will be provided.

Quizzes and pub games – bring along any favourites.
