Frithsden East

A return to an area we haven’t used for a few years, mostly due to logistics of parking – it’s an interesting little area, worth returning to.

Terrain Rolling woodland, mostly runnable. Some paths can be very muddy.

Note: there will be a running event taking place in the area on the same day and runners will be coming down the path past the Start / Finish and up to the Registration area.  Please give them plenty of room!

Parking OS grid reference: TL 017 101.  Nearest postcode: HP1 3DD
Along the farm track which runs to the west from an un-named gravel road between Frithsden and Nettleden, up the hill by the Alford Arms PH.  Please do not approach from the north (Nettleden) end.
This is a narrow track so traffic flow management will be in force. To assist this please try to arrive before 11:00 and not to leave before 11:00.
Public Transport  Nearest train station is Berkhamsted, 2 miles to the SW.
Courses As Frithsden is a real wood, the longer courses are a bit harder than they would be than say, in an open park. The easier courses are still designed to test the same skills as in any other area, so Youth League competitors should enter the course they are used to.
