Training

HH will be hosting a morning’s training on Northchurch Common on Saturday 8th July. Northchurch Common is at the south end of the Ashridge estate and was recently mapped for the Compass Cup Round in March and will be new to most orienteers – having not been run on for about 20 years.

We will be parking in a car park on the east side of the B4506 which climbs up towards the Ashridge estate from the village of Northchurch, GR SP978105 / post code HP4 1LS. The post code will point you to Hill Top Farm which is about 400m S of the the carpark, also on the E side.

There will be a variety of exercises to help to improve your orienteering and mixed in will be a few puzzles to make you think and test your general knowledge of orienteering.

The training will begin around 10.30 am will then be followed by a social at the Memorial Hall in Aldbury, about 5 mins drive from the Training.

Social

There will be a social gathering after training at Aldbury Memorial Hall (Station Road,  HP23 5RR, next door to the Post Office) from 1 pm onwards.

Tea, coffee and juice will be provided but people are encouraged to bring some savoury and sweet dishes along with them to share.
