Juniors and families, here are a few suggestions for upcoming events that you might like to consider between 2nd March– 6th April 2019.   All events within 50 miles.

An area of reclaimed gravel workings with woodland and open areas round the lake.

19th -22nd April; (Easter Holidays) – JK Festival of Orienteering       http://www.thejk.org.uk/
Club: South Central Association
Venue: 4 days of Orienteering and likely to attract up to 2,000 competitors. This event is hosted by a different Region each year and in 2019 it is on our doorstep as it is being hosted by South Central with all venues within daily driving distance.
Entries are now open;  Final closing date 24th March.
4th-6th May – British Championships                   http://www.theboc.org.uk/
Club: Yorkshire
Venue: The British Champs in 2019 will be hosted by Yorkshire in the areas around Leeds. The weekend consists of a Mixed Sprint Relay, the Long-Distance Champs (on Kilnsey Moor) and a Relay Championships

Second Closing date 10th March and last closing date 21st April
28th July – 4th August – Scottish 6 Days (S6D)         https://www.scottish6days.com/
Venue: 6 days of Orienteering on some of the best areas in Scotland. In 2019 the event centre is at Crieff. Certainly will attract over 3,000 competitors from all over the world.
As well as orienteering, entertainment is laid on most evenings, as well as Mountain Bike ‘O’ events and lots more.
If you intend to go, look for accommodation now (although there will be a camp site) as the nearest accommodation soon gets snapped up.

Second Closing date 30th April and last closing date 30th June.
14th and 15th September – British Sprint and Middle Distance Champs
Club: East Midlands Region
Venue: The Sprint Championships are in Leicester and the Middle-Distance Champs in Derbyshire. More details when they are published.
