We hope you will come to our biggest event of the year, the Ace of Herts, which is a round of the South East Orienteering League. It’s not just for experts, there are courses suitable for everybody and help for newcomers.

Terrain Highly runnable mixed deciduous woodland.  The wood is on an eastward facing slope cut by two streams and contains contour detail.

There is also an extensive path network.

Parking Parking and registration are at Tolmers Scout Camp in Cuffley, postcode EN6 4JS, grid ref TL299 037.
Public Transport  The car park is 1.5 km walk from Cuffley Train Station.
Courses Standard SE League courses from White (junior beginners) to Black (fit, experienced, long distance orienteers) and in addition Very Short Green. Competitors in SE League should enter the course for their age group.

N.B. Competitors on Black with type 5 and 8 SI cards and Competitors on Brown with type 8 cards:
we will provide higher capacity type 9 cards for use on the day. Please note the requirement on your entry form.
Also note, Competitors on Brown with a type 5 card who mispunch will not get all their split times; however if they will still get a finish time.

Courses subject to final controlling.

Starts The Start is approximately 1.0 km  and the  Finish approximately 1.2 km from the event centre. 700m of the route is in common. The walk will involve a marshalled crossing of a busy and fast road (young juniors should be accompanied) . It is not suitable for pushchairs.

Start times between 10.00-12.30. Courses close at 14.30.

Facilities Toilets and First Aid at the Event centre. Water and squash at Finish.
Dogs Please leave dogs in cars in the Car Park. The area around both the Car Park and the Start are Activity Centres used predominantly by children and unsuitable for dogs.  Dogs are also not allowed on courses, as they cross the land of multiple owners, not all with permission for dogs.
Safety Orienteering is an adventure sport. You take part at your own risk and are responsible for your own safety.
Results Times taken between each control and your total time for the course will be printed for you at download.
